Thank you for reading the story, “Worrying about Field Sobriety Tests and Other Aspects of Aging.”
Its takeaway is: Today’s Goal: Accept Yourself. Love yourself. And keep moving forward.
Now grab your notebook or journal and if this line evokes something in you, write down what you are thinking.
If not, here are three prompts – borrowed from the story – to write about instead:
- No matter what your age, write about the changes you see in your body as a result of aging. If all “systems” are in good shape, make specific notes in that regard. Should you revisit this list in 5 or 10 years it will be interesting to note what has been going on.
- Write about your physical fitness or your lack thereof. What are your fitness goals for the future? How far out into the future are you taking those plans?
- There is a poem that states “When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple.” At what age will you call yourself an old woman, and what are your wardrobe plans then?
As always, write about one of these prompts or all of them. There is no right or wrong, just what feels best to you.
