March 2021 Newsletter
I remember the joy of springtime when my kids were preschoolers. I didn’t have to bundle them up in coats and boots and scarfs. I didn’t have to make each of their ten little fingers fit into the appropriate slot in a glove. All I had to do was open the door and let them out into the sunshine!
I never thought there could be a more joyous spring than this memory, but after the suffocation of a COVID winter in Ohio, my soul is bubbling in anticipation as Spring 2021 approaches.
As my heart screams, “LET THERE BE LIGHT!” I offer this LIGHT-hearted newsletter to share my joy.

LIGHT READING:
The only thing I’m planting this spring is my tushie in a lawn chair. If you feel like I do, here are a couple of fun books to read as you sit there. (A lot more book reviews on my website.)
Evvie Drake Starts Over: When Evvie and Dean become friends, they make a pact: He won’t ask about her dead husband, and she won’t ask about his dead baseball career. In this way, they learn – and teach us – how to negotiate life in the aftermath of reaching a dead end.
Eliza Starts a Rumor: A rumor on an online women’s forum brings four ladies together. One is agoraphobic, two have straying husbands, and the fourth is raising a newborn alone. They show us what friendship is all about.

LIGHTEN UP YOUR WARDROBE WITH A NEW T-SHIRT:
Spring Sale: All T-shirts are 20% off at my Etsy shop through March 31, 2021.
Ten designs from which to choose including these:
Need a ray of sunshine? This one is available as a T-shirt too – or as a notecard, mug, tote bag, sweatshirt, or poster.

There’s one final chuckle at the end, but before reaching it, thanks for reading this quarterly newsletter. I am hoping two things:
- That you tell your friends about me and ask them to join my mailing list.
- That you add a pun or other bit of springtime silliness in the comments section below.
Thank you!
Lorie
Here’s the last chuckle then it’s time to quit reading, and TIME TO CELEBRATE SPRING!
I don’t like spring cleaning – they bounce all over the place!
Trish! Thanks for the laugh!!!
Spring it on!
Evergreens might not mind winter, but for all the other trees, spring is a great re-leaf.
( Pun courtesy of a Google search. I wish I had thought of it) I can add : Maple trees pine for spring. Pine trees do not!
So many laughs! Thank you!
Just the age old pun here: SPRING has SPRUNG here in Chicago. Thanks, Lorie and all for the cheer!
Spring is GLORIOUS this year. Enjoy!!
Btw, I’ll need to learn how to dress again, so new spring Tshirts sound good right now!
I hope you’ll have a look around the Etsy shop. Ten designs from which to choose… It WILL be strange to dress up a bit and be out with people, but we seem to be moving in that direction. Scary! And exciting!
Daylight Savings Time…”Spring Forward”, says it all for me! 💐🌺🌷
We are just days away from springing forward! Let there be light!
