A Special Report for Book Lovers
In honor of this month that contains five Tuesdays, here are five books I have read in the last several months as taken from the Book Blog section of my website.
For those who think I read all fiction all the time, this issue of the Special Report for Book Lovers will be surprising – it contains two nonfiction titles! It also contains two fictional tales of families who are impacted by the loss of a child. The fifth book is Taylor Jenkins Reid’s newest story. She is an author I have read and reviewed four times in the past.
As a bonus, links to the other Taylor Jenkins Reid books are included as is a link to another of today’s authors that I have reported on in the past, Ann Napolitano.
*****
In Love – Memoir of Love and Loss by Amy Bloom
The right to die – a terrible topic but a terrific book…
This book is about the right to die and about how to find accompanied suicide for those who are not certifiably terminally ill.
*****
Spare by Prince Harry
Missing mom, an identity issue, and the press…
The book has three recurring themes: the impact of his mother’s death, what it means to be the spare, and the tribulations posed by the press.
*****
Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano
4 sisters + 1 man = lots of grief…
This is the story of the four Padavano sisters. Readers will love them. Those who are familiar with Little Women, will love them even more.
*****
Small World by Laura Zigman
How the death of a child shapes a family…
A family in which one of three daughters dies as a child is poignantly explored by an author who lived a similar experience.
*****
Carrie Soto is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid
A lot of tennis with a side of romance…
Carrie Soto is a star tennis player with an amazing record that’s about to be taken away from her. She comes out of retirement to defend it!
