This is a terrific picture book about the life and legacy of Rabbi Isaac Mayer Wise. I should note that I am a member of the congregation in Cincinnati he founded and that carries his name. In fact, I used to serve as a docent at the historic Plum Street Temple that he likewise built. I wish this book existed during my tenure as a tour guide because it gives all the basic information I needed to tell about this important historic figure. With this fabulous resource – plus a little embellishment for the adults in my audience – I would have had everything I needed at my fingertips. Of course, I would have wanted to show my audience the book itself so they could admire the beautiful artwork.
The book is intended for ages 5-9.
I thank the author for a review copy of the book.
