Thank you for reading the story, Deciphering Hillel Through the Years
Its takeaway is: What if you simply devoted this week to loving yourself?
You will notice that this story has three quotes and images instead of just one, and all of them have to do with selfcare. This is because selfcare is a topic of high importance to me. Why? They say we teach best that which we most need to learn, so taking care of myself is something I am still trying to learn.
If you are too, here are three questions to ponder and write about.
- Pretend that money is no object and that you have all the time you need. If this were the case, how would you devote an entire week to taking care of yourself?
- Now get real. You don’t have excess money or time. But use your creativity to think of small ways you can fit selfcare into your week. Write down seven little somethings – one per day – that you can do for yourself.
- Darn, this is supposed to be a journaling prompt, but instead it’s a go and do prompt. Right now, set a timer for 15 minutes, and go do something enjoyable. Remember it fondly throughout the day. Let it glow within. Maybe jot the experience down in your journal tomorrow…
As always, write about one of these prompts or all of them. There is no right or wrong, just what feels best to you.
