Thank you for reading the story, “That Time I Needed a Husband.”
Its takeaway is: Be strong enough to stand alone, smart enough to know when you need help, and brave enough to ask for it.
Now grab your notebook or journal and if this line evokes something in you, write down what you are thinking.
If not, here are three prompts – borrowed from the story – to write about instead:
- Working your way through a problem is a challenge, but it often makes for a good story afterwards. Write about a missed plane or a fender bender or some other stressor that turned into a fun story at the end.
- In this chapter I shout, I DON’T WANT TO DO THIS MYSELF! Write those words across the top of a journal page and then talk about something you Do. Not. Wish. To. Handle. On. Your. Own.
- Write yourself a glowing letter of congratulations for a difficult situation your handled recently. I’m sure you handled it beautifully. Remind yourself of that FACT.
As always, write about one of these prompts or all of them. There is no right or wrong, just what feels best to you.
