Thank you for reading the story, “30 Reasons to Be Grateful at my Granddaughter’s Soccer Game.”
Its takeaway is: There is always something to be grateful for.
Now grab your notebook or journal and if this line evokes something in you, write down what you are thinking.
If not, here are three prompts – borrowed from the story – to write about instead:
- This story originated with my difficulty finding a parking place. Write about some parking problem you have had. Did you double park? Hit a post? Drive round and round never to find a spot? Or did you find the world’s best parking spot at a place you had no desire to be?
- I was trying to model the thought process that there are scads of things to be grateful for in any situation. Think of something you did today and write at least 10 reasons to be grateful for doing it.
- Write about a sporting event you attended on a very hot or very cold day. It can be a professional team or a kids’ team. You can be the player or the spectator. But what do you remember about that experience all these years later?
As always, write about one of these prompts or all of them. There is no right or wrong, just what feels best to you.

One last thing! Amazon has named me an Influencer (!!!!) and invited me to open a Storefront. You will find lots of my favorite things there including fun gifts for people who love to read. Check it out!

Recently finished reading “Chai on Life”. Found it to be the perfect back deck read. While I haven’t written my own stories each chapter prompted a memory of my own. Love your slice of life stories.
I’m so glad my stories evoked your stories. That’s exactly what I hoped would happen!! Lorie
