Thank you for reading the story, A Covid-19 Correction to My Vision.
Its one-line takeaway is: You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.
Now grab your notebook or journal and if this line evokes something in you, write down what you are thinking.
If not, here are three prompts – borrowed from the story – to write about instead:
- Whether you are/were a stay-at-home mom, or a mom who works/worked outside of the home, or some hybrid of the two, tell why it is/was the best option ever! And then tell why it is/was not!
- This story starts with seeing an image on Facebook that rattled me. There are lots of ways people get rattled looking at social media – tell a story of such an occurrence from your life.
- Write a letter to your past self or your children addressing the unspoken lessons you taught them through your career/life choices. What do you hope they learned, and what did you perhaps overlook?
As always, write about one of these prompts or all of them. There is no right or wrong, just what feels best to you.
