Thank you for reading the story, “On Matzah Balls, Legos, and Various Things in Between.”
Its takeaway is: Today’s little moments become tomorrow’s precious memories.
Now grab your notebook or journal and if this line evokes something in you, write down what you are thinking.
If not, here are three prompts – borrowed from the story – to write about instead:
- Holiday meals are often FULL of family traditions. Write about such a meal in your family. What items are mandatory for that meal? Who would you find around the table? You can write a modern memory or revisit your childhood here. Or do both!
- When it comes to getting cakes out of Bundt pans, I have often failed. Write about some cooking catastrophe you have had. Was something undercooked or overcooked, or did something have a less-than-five-second fall on the ground?
- When you think of your kids or grandkids or favorite nieces and nephews, what toy or games come to mind. I wrote about Legos. What toy experience stands out in your memory?
As always, write about one of these prompts or all of them. There is no right or wrong, just what feels best to you.
